"Carcasses" 1972 – 1980
"The carcass I saw in the sculptor's studio illuminated and inspired me, like a person, a landscape or an article can arouse one's imagination… This carcass convinced me even more of its importance when I saw it worn and useless, next to the sculpture of Lenin cast in plaster. And so I started painting it, seeing in it that I felt. The carcasses became more animated in my eyes than the sculptures themselves. Yefim Ladizhinsky
